4 Front Load Laundry Myths

Many people are worried about switching to a front load washing machine. Say good-buy to your worries because we have you covered. Here are 4 myths that could make you want to make the switch today:

1. The doors on front load laundry tend to leak.

  • False: When front loaders first hit the market, this was a common complaint. But, the seals on today’s models have been rigorously tested to ensure they do not leak.

2. The high spin speed on front load washers cause them to vibrate and are noisier than top load machines.

  • False: When modern front loaders are properly installed they are no more prone to vibrate than top load. Plus, newer front loaders are made with insulation and anti-vibration technology that greatly reduce noise.

3. Front load washers are hard to maintain and keep fresh.

  • False: All appliances require some routine maintenance. Be sure to use the correct detergent (HE) and use the machines cleaning cycle. If necessary, leave the door ajar to help the washer dry out.

4. Front load washers are less efficient than top load laundry.

  • False: Front loaders are more efficient for 2 basic reasons. One, they use less water than top loaders. Two, their higher spin speeds allow for much quicker dry times, saving both time and energy.
